Just when you thought it was safe and hammered that tube amp hard, something goes wrong or it just doesn't sound like it used to. There are many reasons for this and with tube amps the usual problems are that someone (or you) have carried out bad mods or 'upgrades' and all of a sudden BANG... hopefully that isn't the end of you.. but it may be for your amp.....

Checkout the menu on the left and see how you can get back on the straight and narrow by fitting new tubes and rebiasing the amp or any of the other subjects covered there. Like most sites, this one will grow over time - so keep on coming back....

Often the main problem with your amp is reasonably easily fixed and with a few carefully considered points it's easy to diagnose the real cause of the problem and either fix it yourself or get someone else to do it for you. Of course, if someone else does the fix, then that costs more (usually) than what it would cost for you to fix it.

If you really are a complete ham fisted guitarist with no hope of fixing your amp yourself - stop here... it could otherwise do you more harm than good. It's better to shell out the money and carry on playing rather than not shelling out the money and visiting the ampangel forever!
