ampangel and ampwizard - mods and info for boogie, marshall, fender and other tube amps

This site is dedicated to Guitar Amps with Tubes - the only thing to play guitar through if you are serious about your tone!

What's Here ?

This is a website that will give you loads of info, especially about older Marshall amps (and probably some new ones) as well as many other brands including Fender and Mesa Boogie. See the latest mods available for amps, see what others think of their tube amp, the problems and the pleasures of using a particular brand of amp and many other useful hints, tips and tricks (from the wizard!).

Find out exactly whether the Manufacturer supports you once you have parted with your money and how well they coped with your problem.

When I first started to think about making a site like this I considered many 'angles' to include here, but being a user of tube amps led me further. I checked out the internet and there was not a single site that had it all, the repairs, the mods, the sound bytes, the reviews, the specs - well you get the drift...

So after much thought I decided to include the lot. I guess it will take some time to get this completely off the ground, I write pages and sections when there is time - so hang on in there and come back often, there will always be something new in one place or another on this site.

If you want to contribute just email tony@ampwizard.com and let's make this the best tube amp website on the net, really!

The amp featured at the top of this page is a Marshall 2203 Master Volume Mk II head from 79 in a quite rare livery. This amp is featured elsewhere on this site so take a look around, most of the info is priceless...
